Patna: A 26-year-old youth died after his bike collided with a road divider near Kurji Holy Family Hospital in Patliputra police station area in the state capital on Wednesday.The deceased has been identified as Rahees, a resident of Patliputra Colony. According to eyewitnesses, Rahees was performing stunts while riding at a high speed towards Danapur. The bike suddenly skidded and hit the divider, throwing the rider nearly five feet into the air before he fell onto the road. The bike was thrown in another direction. He was rushed to the hospital by police, where doctors declared him brought dead.Rahees, who lived in a rented flat, was an avid bike stunt enthusiast and ran a social account under the username “the hell rider 26”. His family reached the hospital after the incident. A large crowd gathered at the spot following the accident, causing chaos for nearly 20 minutes. Traffic police cleared the area and restored normal movement. The damaged bike has been seized by the police.Patliputra police have initiated an investigation into the accident. “Preliminary findings point to speeding and loss of control as the main causes. Police are also examining CCTV footage from the area to reconstruct the sequence of events. The body has been sent to a govt hospital for the postmortem,” said SHO Atulesh Kumar.
