Noida: Getting to and from Noida International Airport could become easier for passengers from western UP and neighbouring states as Yamuna Expressway Industrial Development Authority (YEIDA) has approved an interstate bus terminal near the facility. The terminal, planned in Sector 23C off Yamuna Expressway, is expected to provide a direct link between the airport and a wider network of cities and towns, giving passengers an alternative to costly cabs and private vehicles. The YEIDA board also approved increasing the number of city buses in the area from 100 to 500 in the coming days. “The bus terminal will facilitate connectivity from the airport to neighbouring areas,” said RK Singh, YEIDA CEO. The expansion is significant as the airport’s connectivity will increasingly depend on public transport as passenger traffic grows. The board’s decisions also set the stage for a major expansion of healthcare, education and industry around the airport. It approved a 500-acre medical hub in sectors 13 and 14 and a 480-acre university township in Sector 34. A 36-acre mandi and a 50-acre international stadium were also cleared, adding new public and commercial infrastructure to the emerging region. The authority will reserve 300 acres in Sector 6 for a Taiwan City aimed at attracting Taiwan-based industries, particularly in electronics and technology manufacturing. Another 100-125 acres in the same sector will be reserved for a pharmaceutical formulation manufacturing cluster, with YEIDA citing the need to expand pharma capacity and promote investment. The board also approved revised land purchase rates for planned development. Under the mutual-consent model, the existing rate of Rs 4,300 per square metre will rise 6% to Rs 4,558. An alternative option allows purchase at Rs 4,037 per square metre along with a 7% abadi plot.YEIDA’s finances have also strengthened sharply. Its receipts up to July 31 rose from Rs 974.4 crore in 2025-26 to Rs 1,853.7 crore in 2026-27 — a 90.3% increase — according to officials.
