Udupi: Yakshagana Kalaranga Vidyaposhak Monday inaugurated a newly constructed house for a meritorious student in Hebri, marking the completion of its 94th house.The house, named ‘Yashoraga’, was gifted to Srujan S, a student supported by the organisation, who scored 87.3% in the SSLC examination. He is the son of Ramya and Satish Bhandary.Built in Hebri taluk, the house was sponsored by PR Rajagopal and PR Ramesh in memory of their parents, P Raghavendra Tantri and Yashoda R Tantri.Presiding over the function, Kundapur MLA Kiran Kumar Kodgi lauded Yakshagana Kalaranga for its efforts. “The organisation is doing the kind of work that the govt should be doing. Its transparency and commitment have earned it strong social support. Its programmes always carry a meaningful message for society,” the MLA said.Recalling their childhood struggles, sponsors Rajagopal and Ramesh credited their parents for ensuring they received a good education despite hardships. “We feel blessed to have built this house in their memory. We are grateful to the organisation for giving us this opportunity,” they said.Among those present were treasurer and retired principal Prof K Sadashiva Rao, ICDS Ltd. MD Sujeer Prabhakar, entrepreneur Ramesh A Bangera, Yakshagana Kalaranga president M Gangadhara Rao, and secretary Murali Kadekar.
