Varanasi: The tradition of offering Jalabhishek to Lord Kashi Vishwanath and other prominent Shiv temples in Kashi by the Yadav Bandhus on the first Monday of the auspicious month of Shrawan will enter its 94th year on Monday.Chandravanshi Gop Seva Samiti president Lalji Chandravanshi said that, as per tradition, devotees from the Yadav fraternity will collect holy water from Manikarnika Ghat and enter the Kashi Vishwanath Temple through the western gate, also known as Singhdwar, before proceeding through the Dhundhiraj Gate to perform Jalabhishek to Lord Vishwanath. They will exit through Gate No. 4 of the temple.The temple administration has permitted 21 people to perform Jalabhishek in the sanctum sanctorum, he said, adding that the Jalabhishek Kalash Yatra will begin from Kedar Ghat at 7.30 am and proceed to the Kashi Vishwanath Temple.The devotees will first perform Jalabhishek at Gauri-Kedareshwar Mahadev. They will then offer Jalabhishek at Tilbhandeshwar Mahadev before reaching Sheetla Ghat, where they will collect holy water and offer Jalabhishek to Mata Sheetla and Ahileshwar Mahadev at Man Mandir Ghat.Thereafter, they will perform Jalabhishek at the Shri Kashi Vishwanath Temple and offer prayers at Mahamrityunjay Mahadev, Trilochan Mahadev, and Omkareshwar Mahadev. The yatra will conclude after Jalabhishek at Lat Bhairav Baba.
