Noida: A 21-year-old man was electrocuted while a 32-year-old man was injured during work at an under-construction building in Sorkha area on Saturday.On the complaint of a victim’s family member, a case under Section 106 (causing death by negligence) of BNS was registered against the landlord at Sector 113 police station on Sunday. No arrest has been made yet.Daily wagers Sobran and Vijaykant — residents of Shahjahanpur — were engaged in a plaster work at the two-storey building. A senior police officer said the landlord resides on the ground floor.When the labourers were finishing their work around 5pm, Sobran came in contact with an exposed wire lying on the ground. Vijaykant rushed to rescue him, but he also suffered an electric shock. When the landlord heard their screams, he darted to the first floor.“They were taken to a nearby hospital, where Sobran was declared dead. Vijaykant is stable now,” police said.Police were alerted by the hospital following which Sobran’s family members were informed. His autopsy was conducted in the presence of his family members on Sunday.“A temporary light bulb had been installed on the first floor of the building. To supply power, they used an extension board and extra wiring. Due to a cut in the middle of the wire, Sobran suffered the electric shock as his feet were wet,” SHO Pramod Kumar said.
