Varanasi: Uttar Pradesh State Women’s Commission chairperson Babita Singh Chauhan along with commission member Geeta Vishwakarma celebrated ‘Kanya Janmotsav’ at the Women’s Hospital on the premises of Pandit Deendayal Upadhyay Govt Hospital in Pandeypur on Monday.The birth of 10 newborn girls was celebrated by cutting a cake. The chairperson and the commission member congratulated the newborns and their families and distributed baby kits and sweets as gifts.Addressing the programme, Chauhan highlighted the importance of respecting, protecting and empowering daughters. She also called for spreading the message and objectives of the ‘Beti Bachao, Beti Padhao’ campaign to every section of society. Following the celebration, the chairperson and the commission member inspected the Women’s Hospital and the One Stop Centre. They reviewed the facilities and services being provided and directed the concerned officials to ensure quality, sensitive and time-bound services for women and girls.
