Panaji: Chief minister Pramod Sawant said on Tuesday that Rs 3,000 under the Goa Ujjwala Yojana will be deposited to the 2.5 lakh women who are presently beneficiaries of the Dayanand Social Security Scheme (DSSS) and the Griha Aadhar Scheme by Thursday.He further said that women who are not beneficiaries of any govt scheme will receive the amount once their bank and other details are processed. This, Sawant said, would not take more than four days, even as he urged people not to believe claims that beneficiaries of the scheme would be deprived of benefits of other govt schemes.The chief minister said that two categories of forms have been distributed to the beneficiaries– category A forms have been provided to the beneficiaries of DSSS and Griha Aadhar Scheme. Category B forms are for women who are not beneficiaries of any govt scheme.Sawant said that govt has never cancelled other schemes in case a new scheme has been introduced or took back money deposited under other schemes. “Beneficiaries of the Goa Ujjwala Yojana can remain assured that their existing benefits under other govt schemes will continue without any interruption,” he said.State govt launched Goa Ujjwala Yojana to provide three free cylinders in a financial year. Under this scheme, govt will transfer Rs 3,000 to bank accounts of beneficiaries.
