Gurgaon: A 36-year-old woman was allegedly strangled by her husband following a dispute in Manesar on Thursday.Mathura native Narender Singh (40), who suspected Kajal of having an extramarital relationship, is absconding after killing her at their rented accommodation. A murder case was registered at IMT Manesar police station, following which a manhunt was launched.According to investigators, both of them, who were living with their four children, were employed in private firms in the industrial hub. Narender worked in the loading department of Maruti’s plant in IMT Manesar, while Kajal was employed with a private company in the same area.Police said the incident stemmed from an argument after Narender found certain messages on Kajal’s mobile phone. Suspecting her of infidelity, he confronted her, leading to a heated exchange between the two.The family, according to the police, ate dinner together. After that, the accused objected to a phone call. During the altercation, the couple assaulted each other before the argument turned fatal. Investigators said Narender, in a fit of rage, used a dupatta to strangle Kajal. The assault took place while the couple’s children were asleep in the house. Police sources said the children woke up after hearing their mother’s screams and attempted to intervene. However, Narender allegedly continued the assault.After Kajal fell unconscious, Narender rushed her to a nearby hospital, where doctors declared her dead. Soon after, the accused fled the hospital.“We received information about the murder from the hospital staff around 2.30 am. A police team reached the hospital and subsequently visited the crime scene,” an investigator said. Teams from IMT Manesar police station, along with forensic experts, reached the couple’s residence and collected evidence from the spot. The body was shifted to a local mortuary for an autopsy.
