Prayagraj: A woman allegedly poisoned her daughter to death with the help of her son in Fatehpur village.Ghazipur police have arrested the woman and her son for allegedly killing her 19-year-old daughter over her relationship with a Hindu youth. The accused, identified as Afsana (48) and Afsar (26), were arrested near Tikri turn on Monday evening while they were planning to escape.The police said the body of Farzana, daughter of Imam Khan, a resident of Paigampur Bakri village, was found on March 2 in the field of Bodhan Kumar outside the village under the Ghazipur police station in Fatehpur district. An FIR under sections 103(1) and 238 of BNS was registered against unknown persons.After a detailed probe involving surveillance and phone-call analysis, the police alleged that the mother and her son took Farzana to a pulses field on the intervening night of Mar 1-2 where they forced her to ingest a sulphas-laced powder. After killing Farzana, the duo allegedly dumped her body in another field and while the mother fled to Fatehpur, the brother returned home.On Mar 2, the mother, under the planned conspiracy, arrived from Fatehpur and approached Ghazipur police about the killing of her daughter. Ironically, when the police asked them to lodge an FIR, both the mother and her son said that they did not want any legal procedure.
