Kanpur: Police have launched a manhunt for six people after a 28-year-old woman was allegedly shot dead in front of her four-year-old daughter in Kanpur’s Cantt area on Sunday evening.The incident occurred near Shakti Chauraha in the Cantt police station area following an altercation involving the victim’s sister and her husband.The victim, Chandni, was rushed to KPM Hospital by police and relatives, where doctors declared her dead. DCP East Satyajeet Gupta said efforts were underway to arrest the accused.Police said Chandni’s sister, Sarojni, had an argument with her husband, Santosh, on Sunday evening, during which she allegedly slapped him. Following the altercation, Santosh’s brother Vinod allegedly came to attack Sarojni. When Chandni intervened, Vinod allegedly shot her.Santosh, a resident of Kallupurwa in Unnao, allegedly bore a grudge against Chandni after Sarojni filed for divorce around two years ago and began living at her parental home. She claimed Santosh frequently assaulted Sarojni while intoxicated.
