Vadodara: The crime branch arrested a woman on Sunday for allegedly stealing gold ornaments from a fellow passenger while sharing an autorickshaw ride in the city.Police said the accused, identified as Julie Mansuri, a resident of Chhota Udepur, would share autorickshaw rides with women passengers and target them during the journey.According to police, Mansuri recently boarded an autorickshaw in the old city area along with a woman passenger. During the ride, she allegedly stole the victim’s gold earrings, valued at around Rs 96,000, before getting off the vehicle at some distance.Acting on information about Mansuri’s involvement in the theft, the crime branch traced and apprehended her near the Soma Talav area and recovered the stolen earrings from her possession.During questioning, Mansuri reportedly confessed to the theft, police said.
