Kollam: A 23-year-old woman was found hanging inside her house at Kadakkal on Sunday. Police said it is a case of suspected suicide.The deceased was found hanging from a window wire in a bedroom. When she was found unresponsive, family members and locals rushed her to Kadakkal taluk hospital, but doctors declared her dead on arrival. Later, the body was shifted to Parippally medical college for postmortem examination. Currently, the body is kept in the mortuary. Kadakkal police registered a case of unnatural death and recorded statements from family members and neighbours as part of the preliminary inquiry. Police said no foul play is suspected at this stage, though all angles are being examined. The inquest proceedings were conducted in the presence of the revenue divisional officer. Forensic experts visited the house and collected evidence from the scene. Police said further investigation is under way. Vaishnavi was pursuing a course in fashion designing in Thiruvananthapuram and had returned home recently, according to relatives.
