Body found in Purnia: A 35-year-old woman, Renu Devi, was found dead with her throat slit in a makhana field in Purnia’s K Nagar area on Sunday. A blood-stained knife and other items were recovered from the spot. Villagers suspected sexual assault, but police said the postmortem and forensic reports would establish the circumstances under which she died. Sadar SDPO-II Gaurav Kumar said, “The body was sent to GMCH Purnia for postmortem. The recovered knife and other evidence have been sent for forensic analysis.” Police are examining CCTV footage, call records and other technical evidence.
