Mandya: A 27-year-old woman died after falling into Cauvery River while taking a selfie near the parking area at KRS in Srirangapatna taluk on Tuesday. The deceased is Kusumanjali, a resident of Ramakrishna Nagar in Mysuru.According to police, Kusumanjali was with her mother Veena when the incident happened. She reportedly sat on the retaining wall near the river to take a selfie, and accidentally slipped and fell into the water — right in front of her mother. Police and rescue personnel recovered her body from the river, and shifted it to the KR Hospital mortuary for post-mortem. KRS police are investigating the incident.
