GURGAON: Two days after a woman died under suspicious circumstances at her home in Garhi Harsaru, her family accused her husband of killing her by administering a poisonous injection. Police registered a dowry death case against the husband and recovered a syringe from the spot. Kajal worked as a nurse at a private hospital. She was living in the village with her maternal family and her husband Arun Kumar. Her family alleged that Arun was addicted to drugs and often fought with Kajal when she tried to stop him. According to Kajal’s brother Gurdeep, the couple had an argument on March 18 morning. Around 9.15am, Arun allegedly called Kajal downstairs on the pretext of talking. Soon after, her condition worsened and she started bleeding from the nose. The family took her to a hospital, from where she was referred to Civil Hospital in Sector 10. Doctors there declared her dead. The family said a syringe was later found in the bathroom and alleged Arun had injected Kajal with a poisonous substance, causing her death. After receiving information, cops from Sector 93 police chowki reached the house, took custody of the body, and inspected the spot. Following a post-mortem examination on Thursday, the body was handed over to the family. Doctors said her viscera had been preserved and sent for examination to ascertain the exact cause of death. Police said there were no external injury marks on Kajal’s body. Kajal and Arun got married with their families’ consent after meeting at a hospital where both were employed. Arun worked in the X-ray section but had left his job some time ago, which reportedly led to frequent disputes between them. The couple had been living in a rented house in Basai before moving to Kajal’s maternal home in Garhi Harsaru during Holi. A case under Section 80(2) of BNS (dowry death) had been registered at Sector 10A police station. “We will soon arrest the accused,” he said.
