Gumla: A 30-year-old woman in Gumla died by suicide just eight days before her wedding.Her body was found hanging from a tree in the courtyard of her house on Tuesday, police said.The woman has been identified as Punam Kumari of Serka- Siyartoli village. The family members said she was due to get married to one Devendra Kherwar of Parsa village in Raidih on April 29. They further said that she was in touch with a man with whom she would talk regularly over phone.On Monday, too she spoke with him after which she took the step, they alleged.Officer in-charge of Bishunpur police station, Pramod Kumar said an FIR was registered late in the evening against the youth based on a complaint by Punam’s father Sukhnath Kherwar.
