Nagpur: A nine-month pregnant woman travelling on Bilaspur Superfast Express gave birth to a healthy baby boy at Wardha railway station on Sunday. She was travelling from Akola to Bilaspur.The woman started experiencing severe labour pains when the passengers, including train conductor Praveen Narnaware, informed the authorities.A doctor call was promptly arranged by the Wardha dy station superintendent, following which the delivery was performed at the station platform itself. The mother and newborn were then shifted to a hospital in Wardha.A woman Travelling Ticket Examiner (TTE) accompanied the woman throughout the emergency, and her family members were informed.“The incident has highlighted the commitment of railway personnel in handling medical emergencies to ensure passenger safety even in unexpected situations,” said sr divisional commercial manager Aman Mittal.Both mother and baby are reported to be stable and out of danger.
