Nagpur: A 55-year-old woman died on the spot and her husband suffered injuries after a container truck rammed their two-wheeler from behind on Jabalpur Highway within Pardi police station limits on Tuesday afternoon.Prakash Deshmukh (60), a civil contractor from Kharbi, and his wife Anita were riding a bike towards Mouda when the accident occurred near a dhaba at around 4.30 pm. Police said the driver of container truck allegedly drove in a rash and negligent manner, hit the motorcycle from the rear, and fled.Anita was crushed under the truckâs wheels and died at the spot. Prakash sustained injuries to his leg and face and received treatment at Life Line Hospital.Pardi police have registered a case against the truck driver, who is absconding. A search has been launched to trace him.
