Prayagraj: A 25-year-old woman climbed a 100-foot-high mobile tower in Umaria Badal village of trans-Ganga area on Tuesday, demanding marriage with her boyfriend and threatening to jump if his family did not agree to the union.The woman, a resident of Bahiropur Kuda village in Nawabganj, had been in a relationship with a 27-year-old youth from the village for nearly two years. The woman claimed that her family had agreed to solemnise the marriage, but her boyfriend’s family were refusing the union.Police said the woman had in Aug last year lodged an FIR against the same youth and his family members over marriage. However, she on Tuesday reached Umaria Badal village by cycle and demanded that her marriage with the man be solemnised.Senior cops and administrative officials were pacifying her till the last reports came in.
