Ludhiana: Police have arrested a local woman for allegedly beating two stray puppies to death with a stick after they fouled the area outside her home.The accused, Reeta Devi of Makkar Colony, reportedly confessed to the killings during an inquiry led by animal activist Mani Singh of the People for Animals NGO. Following the violent assault, Devi allegedly dumped the carcasses in an isolated location to hide the evidence.Sahnewal police recovered one body and have charged Devi under Section 325 for killing or maiming animals and the Prevention of Cruelty to Animals Act.
