Lucknow: Gomti Nagar Extension police have registered an FIR against a couple after their daughter alleged that her stepfather sexually abused her for years and her mother forced her to undergo an abortion without her consent.In her complaint, the woman alleged her stepfather began sexually abusing her while she was a minor and continued for several years. Despite informing her mother, no action was taken, she alleged.She said her family arranged her marriage in 2022, but it soon ended in divorce. She further alleged that she had approached police in 2023, but no action was taken.As per the complaint, she left home in 2024, started working outside the city and later entered into a court marriage with another man.She said that after becoming pregnant, she moved to Mahoba with her husband, but she allegedly faced pressure from her mother regarding her husband’s religious conversion.The woman further alleged that she was persuaded to return home, where her mother forced her to undergo an abortion without her husband’s consent. She said that after learning about the abortion, her husband became upset and filed for divorce.Inspector Gaurav Bajpai said an FIR has been lodged under charges related to rape, causing miscarriage and provisions of the POCSO Act.
