An FIR has been filed invoking robbery charges

Mumbai: A 62-year-old hairstylist fell and sustained injuries after two men on a scooter allegedly snatched her bag containing a phone worth Rs 51,000 in Bandra West early on Monday. Bandra police filed a robbery case and launched a search for the attackers.Police said the victim, A C Rodrigues, a Bandra resident, left her home around 5.20am and began walking to a client’s home in Carter Road. A little over 1km from the destination, the men targeted her on Manuel Gonsalves Road. The pillion rider allegedly grabbed the bag hanging around Rodrigues’s neck and shoved her when she tried to hold on to it. Rodrigues fell on her face and injured her lips.“The two escaped with the bag. A team is going through CCTV footage of the spot and the escape routes,” said a Bandra police officer.In her complaint, Rodrigues said despite her injuries, she chose to complete her client’s work, and then sought treatment at a hospital and approached police.Another elderly woman was targeted in a similar manner in Bandra’s Perry Cross Road in July. The 61-year-old woman was headed for Bandra Gymkhana at 6am when two men on a bike approached her from behind and snatched her bag containing a phone, shoes and a purse, collectively valued at Rs 55,000. She, too, fell face first. One of the two accused in that case is yet to be traced.
