Noida: Suraksha Group has promised to complete and hand over 20,000 homes in Jaypee Wishtown by May 2028, nearly a decade after Jaypee Infratech’s insolvency process began and after years of construction uncertainty for thousands of homebuyers. Of the 159 towers that were stalled when Suraksha took over, 84 have now been completed, the developer said.Suraksha promoter Sudhir Valia said the company had completed nearly 50% of the planned construction after taking charge of JIL. “We have already given possession of 5,000 flats to homebuyers, while possession of around 3,000 completed units is pending as these buyers have not approached us,” he said.The group has invested nearly Rs 1,500 crore so far and plans to put in another Rs 3,000 crore over the next two years to finish and deliver the remaining homes. Valia said the target was May 2028, though the schedule could slip by up to six months to Sept 2028 if a ban is imposed on construction during winter.Beyond construction, Suraksha says it is building out Wishtown’s promised social infrastructure. Under its ‘Noida Ki Suraksha’ initiative, it plans an 8-acre Suraksha Sports Park with a cricket ground and multiple courts. A temple is also planned in Sector 133.The group inaugurated its ‘experience centre’ at Wishtown on Monday, showcasing existing projects and upcoming developments across Noida and Yamuna Expressway Authority areas.Suraksha also announced three new integrated townships – City of the Ganga over 256 acres, Enterprise City over 85 acres and Yamuna Smart City over 124 acres. Two will be residential and one industrial, with launches planned this and the next financial year.JIL’s insolvency process began in Aug 2017. NCLT approved Suraksha’s bid on March 7, 2023, while NCLAT upheld its resolution plan in May 2024, setting a 40-month delivery timeline.
