Epic Games had previously confirmed that a Sora skin from Kingdom Hearts would be coming to Fortnite Chapter 7 Season 4, which launched on August 20.
The crossover had been rumored for months, with reports of a potential Kingdom Hearts and Fortnite collaboration first emerging in February.
When the collaboration failed to appear in the game soon after those reports surfaced, many players began to believe that the project had been canceled or shelved.
Those doubts were put to rest after Epic Games recently featured Sora in the official key art for Fortnite Override, confirming that the Kingdom Hearts character is indeed coming to the battle royale.
The version of Sora shown in the promotional artwork appears to be based on his design from Kingdom Hearts 2.
Sora’s arrival date remains unknown
Although Epic confirmed Sora’s arrival, the exact release date for the skin has not yet been revealed.
Fortnite Override launched on August 20, but Sora did not appear in the official trailer for the new season. That has led to speculation that the character may not be available immediately when Chapter 7 Season 4 goes live.
Players may therefore have to wait until a later date during the season before Sora becomes available.

Sora likely coming to item shop
Sora is reportedly not expected to be included among the skins available through the Fortnite Chapter 7 Season 4 Battle Pass.
Instead, the Kingdom Hearts protagonist is expected to arrive through the Item Shop, potentially as part of a larger bundle.
That would make the collaboration similar to other major Fortnite partnerships in which prominent crossover characters are offered separately rather than being tied to the season’s Battle Pass.
Keyblade and more cosmetics
The crossover is also expected to include more than just the Sora outfit.
The official Fortnite Override key art appears to show a Keyblade Pickaxe, giving players a cosmetic representation of one of the most recognizable weapons from the Kingdom Hearts franchise.
Gummi Ship could join Fortnite
One of the more interesting additions reportedly connected to the collaboration is a vehicle inspired by the iconic Gummi Ship from the Kingdom Hearts games.
The vehicle is expected to be usable in both Fortnite Battle Royale and Rocket League.
