At the 18th edition of the Chennai Pride March on Sunday, members of the LGBTQIA+ community and allies came together to celebrate identity, visibility and solidarity. One of the many voices at the gathering had a simple yet powerful appeal for Chief Minister Vijay. “My appeal is the need for education. If we have education, we will grow on our own. People have come here from all over. This is us. No one is a slave to anyone else,” they said. The sentiment echoed the gathering’s larger call for inclusion and the need for empowerment.
