Bathinda: Farmer organisations expressed dissatisfaction with the Centre’s decision to increase the minimum support price (MSP) for wheat by Rs 25 to Rs 2,610 per quintal for the 2027-28 marketing season.They said the increase was inadequate and reiterated their demand for MSP to be fixed at 50% above the comprehensive cost of production, under the C2+50% formula.Kirti Kisan Union general secretary Rajinder Singh Deep Singh Wala said the Centre calculates input costs using the A2+FL formula, which includes family labour but excludes the cost of capital invested in land or lease payments.BKU Ekta Dakaunda president Manjit Singh Dhaner said farmer organisations would continue to press for implementation of the MSP formula recommended by the MS Swaminathan Commission.
