KOLKATA: The final voters’ list in Bengal is set to be released online on Saturday, determining whether electors remain eligible to cast their ballots in the upcoming Assembly elections. The publication comes after nearly four months of a contentious special intensive revision (SIR) exercise.The final roll will retain all 7.08 crore names that appeared in the draft SIR list. However, around 66 lakh entries will carry remarks such as ‘deleted’ or ‘under adjudication’.
According to Election Commission sources, nearly 6 lakh names struck off by Electoral Registration Officers (EROs) and Assistant Electoral Registration Officers (AEROs) during the disposal of cases will be marked as ‘deleted’. Voters can verify their status on:
- https://voters.eci.gov.in
- https://ceowestbengal.nic.in
- ECI NET app
- At local election offices including AERO, SDO, BDO and DM offices
On The Final List
- It will have names of all 7.08 crore voters whose names were there on the draft list.
- But some names, which were struck off by the EROs/AEROs during disposal, will be marked “deleted” and the 60,60,075 names will be marked “under adjudication”
If Marked ‘Deleted’Marked ‘deleted’ even after attending hearings & submitting notified docus
- You can apply to the concerned DM/DEO within 5 days from the publication of the final voters list.
- After getting the application, the DM/DEO will call you for a hearing.
- If the DM/DEO is convinced by the documents, he/she will approve your application.
- If the DM/DEO is not convinced by the documents, he/she will not approve.
- Then you can apply to the CEO.
- If the CEO is convinced, he will approve your application.
- If your application is approved by DEO/CEO, your name will be included in the supplementary electoral roll, and you can vote.
- If your application is not resolved by the DEO within 5 days, you can apply to the CEO.
Marked ‘deleted’ after attending hearings but without notified docu
- Fill up and submit Form 6 with Annexure IV and EC-notified documents
- If your application is approved by ERO/AERO, your name will be included in the electoral roll

- It means your case is pending with judicial officer.
- If the officer approves your case, your name will be included in the supplementary list.
- If the judicial officer does not approve your case, your name will not be included in the supplementary list.
- In that case, you can’t vote in the forthcoming assembly poll, as the rule states EC can publish supplementary list just before the last date of filing nomination.
- You will have to submit Form 6 to be enrolled as an elector.
IF YOUR NAME IS NOT MARKED UNDER ANY OF THE ABOVE CATEGORIES
- You don’t need to worry, as EC approves you as an eligible elector.
- You can vote in the upcoming election.
