Kerala and Mahe and Lakshadweep are also expected to receive widespread rainfall on Friday.Coastal Andhra Pradesh and Yanam, Rayalaseema, North Interior Karnataka, South Interior Karnataka, Tamil Nadu, Puducherry and Karaikal and Telangana may receive isolated to scattered rainfall.Thunderstorms, lightning and gusty winds are likely over parts of Karnataka, Andhra Pradesh, Rayalaseema, Kerala, Tamil Nadu and Telangana.The IMD has also warned of strong surface winds over Coastal Karnataka, North Interior Karnataka and South Interior Karnataka on Friday, while Coastal Andhra Pradesh and Rayalaseema may experience strong winds through August 23.Fishermen warningThe IMD has advised fishermen to exercise caution over parts of the Arabian Sea and Bay of Bengal.In the Arabian Sea, warnings are in place for areas along and off the Somalia and Oman coasts, most parts of the westcentral Arabian Sea and adjoining areas through August 24. Conditions are also expected to remain rough over parts of the northwest Arabian Sea between August 20 and 24.In the Bay of Bengal, warnings have been issued for parts of the Gulf of Mannar and adjoining Comorin area, the southwest Bay of Bengal near the south Sri Lanka coast through August 24, and the Andaman Sea through August 23.Rainfall outlook for the coming daysRainfall activity is expected to remain widespread across several parts of India over the next few days. The Himalayan region, central India, eastern India, the Northeast and parts of the west coast are likely to remain particularly wet, with isolated heavy to very heavy rainfall expected in several areas.
