NEW DELHI: The India Meteorological Department (IMD) has forecast rainfall across several parts of India on Saturday, with Kerala, Karnataka, parts of northeast India, Odisha, West Bengal, Maharashtra and southern states likely to experience showers. Thunderstorms, lightning and gusty winds are also expected in several regions.Delhi is expected to remain without any significant weather warning on Saturday, with rainfall activity likely to increase over Haryana, Chandigarh and Delhi from October 6. Parts of Uttarakhand and Himachal Pradesh may also receive isolated to scattered rainfall on Saturday.IMD alert for SaturdayThe IMD has forecast isolated to scattered rainfall over several parts of central, eastern, northeastern, western and southern India on Saturday.Sub-Himalayan West Bengal and Sikkim are likely to receive isolated to scattered rainfall, while Gangetic West Bengal and Odisha may also see showers. Isolated to scattered rainfall is also expected over Andaman & Nicobar Islands.Thunderstorms, lightning and gusty winds are likely over some parts of the southern peninsula. Gusty winds reaching 30-40 kmph and gusting to 50 kmph are expected over Kerala, while thunderstorms, lightning and strong winds are likely over parts of Andhra Pradesh and Rayalaseema.Delhi-NCR weather tomorrowDelhi and the surrounding areas are not under any significant IMD warning for Saturday. The capital is likely to remain relatively dry, with isolated to scattered rainfall expected over Haryana, Chandigarh and Delhi only from October 6-7.No significant weather warning has been issued for Delhi for Saturday.UP weather tomorrowThe IMD has not forecast any significant rainfall activity over Uttar Pradesh for Saturday.Rainfall activity is expected to remain limited in the state, while the focus of the ongoing wet spell remains over parts of central, eastern, northeastern and southern India.Jharkhand, Bihar and Odisha weatherOdisha is likely to receive isolated to scattered rainfall on Saturday, with the wet spell expected to continue through October 7. Thunderstorms, lightning and gusty winds are also likely over the state during the broader weather system, with the strongest activity forecast on October 2.Bihar and Jharkhand are expected to see isolated to scattered rainfall from October 5, with no significant rainfall warning indicated for Saturday.Gangetic West Bengal is likely to receive isolated to scattered rainfall on Saturday. The region recorded heavy rain at isolated places during the previous 24-hour period, with Dum Dum in North 24 Parganas recording 8 cm of rainfall.Northeast weather forecastSeveral parts of the Northeast are likely to receive isolated to scattered rainfall on Saturday.Arunachal Pradesh, Assam and Meghalaya, as well as Nagaland, Manipur, Mizoram and Tripura, are likely to see showers. The IMD has forecast isolated thunderstorms and lightning over parts of the Northeast during the ongoing spell.Isolated heavy rainfall was forecast over Arunachal Pradesh on October 2, while rainfall activity across the region is expected to continue through October 7.Central India forecastChhattisgarh is likely to receive isolated to scattered rainfall on Saturday as the wet spell continues through October 7.East Madhya Pradesh is expected to see isolated to scattered rainfall through October 3, while no significant rainfall warning has been indicated for the rest of central India on Saturday.West India forecastKonkan and Goa and Madhya Maharashtra are likely to receive isolated to scattered rainfall on Saturday, with the wet spell expected to continue through October 7.Maharashtra may see intermittent rainfall during the period, although no heavy rainfall warning has been indicated for the state on Saturday in the latest forecast provided.South India weatherSeveral parts of south India are likely to remain under an active rainfall spell on Saturday.Kerala and Mahe are likely to receive fairly widespread to widespread rainfall, with thunderstorms, lightning and gusty winds also possible. Gusty winds may reach 30-40 kmph, with gusts up to 50 kmph over Kerala on Saturday.Coastal Karnataka is likely to receive fairly widespread to widespread rainfall on Saturday, while isolated to scattered showers are expected over South Interior Karnataka.Coastal Andhra Pradesh and Yanam and Rayalaseema may also experience isolated to scattered rainfall, along with thunderstorms, lightning and gusty winds. Gusty winds and strong surface winds are expected over these areas during the ongoing spell.Telangana may see isolated to scattered rainfall, with the current spell expected to continue through October 3.Tamil Nadu, Puducherry and Karaikal are likely to receive isolated to scattered rainfall on Saturday, along with thunderstorms, lightning and gusty winds.IMD’s latest forecast for the next few daysRainfall activity is expected to continue across several parts of India through the first week of October.In northwest India, isolated to scattered rainfall is likely over Jammu & Kashmir, Ladakh, Gilgit-Baltistan and Muzaffarabad during October 6-7, while Himachal Pradesh and Uttarakhand may receive showers during October 5-7. Haryana, Chandigarh and Delhi and Punjab are also likely to see isolated to scattered rainfall during October 6-7.Chhattisgarh is expected to receive isolated to scattered rainfall through October 7. Parts of east India, including Odisha, Gangetic West Bengal, Sub-Himalayan West Bengal and Sikkim, are also likely to see showers through October 7, while Bihar and Jharkhand may receive rainfall from October 5.In south India, Kerala and Mahe are likely to remain under a fairly widespread to widespread rainfall spell through October 7. Isolated heavy rainfall is possible over Kerala and Mahe during October 4-6 and over South Interior Karnataka on October 5.The IMD has also forecast thunderstorms, lightning and gusty winds over parts of southern India during the next few days, while strong surface winds are likely over Coastal Andhra Pradesh and Yanam and Rayalaseema during October 2-5.
