Mangaluru: Srinivas K, alias Shinappa alias Sheena, 43, an accused in a case registered at Venur police station under Section 395 of the Indian Penal Code, was arrested after allegedly remaining absconding for nearly 13 years without appearing before the court for trial.A team of Venur police, comprising ASI Bennichan, head constable Krishna and constables Basavaraj SP and Mohan Kumar, arrested him at Koracharatti in Harapanahalli, Vijayanagara district. Srinivas was subsequently produced before the court, which remanded him to judicial custody.In another case, a 45-year-old man wanted under a long-pending case (LPC) warrant was arrested after allegedly evading court proceedings for nearly eight years. The accused, identified as Muwach, a resident of Mukkacheri, Ullal, had been residing at Peruvallath Parambu in Irikkur, Kerala. A case was registered against him at Mangaluru East police station for an alleged offence under Section 379 of the IPC. As he failed to appear before the court, an LPC warrant was issued against him. Police officers and personnel of Mangaluru East police station arrested him on Friday and produced him before the court.
