Panchkula: A meeting of ward committees was held at the municipal corporation, Panchkula, Friday to discuss civic issues, strengthen public participation and improve coordination between residents and the civic body for the city’s development.The meeting was attended by mayor Shyam Lal Bansal, municipal commissioner Vinay Kumar, joint commissioner Simaranjit Kaur, deputy municipal commissioner Abhay, executive officer Nisha, CMGGA Divya Singh Narwat, councillors and ward committee members.Discussions focused on ward-level civic issues, their early resolution and ways to enhance public participation in maintaining cleanliness and improving civic infrastructure. Sanitation, solid waste management, public amenities and ongoing development works across wards also came up for detailed review.Addressing the meeting, mayor Bansal and municipal commissioner Vinay Kumar said ward committees play a crucial role in bridging the gap between citizens and the municipal corporation. They urged members to regularly bring local issues and suggestions to the civic body’s notice so that they can be addressed promptly.They said active cooperation from ward committees and greater public participation would help realise the vision of making Panchkula a clean, green and well-managed city.CMGGA Divya Singh Narwat informed members that complaints submitted through the grievance redressal system (GRS) portal by ward committee members would be given priority for speedy disposal. She encouraged them to register public grievances from their respective wards on the portal to ensure timely action.The meeting concluded with participants pledging full support to the municipal corporation’s efforts to improve civic services and maintain cleanliness across the city.
