Kanpur: A Chakeri police team arrested a most-wanted criminal for allegedly committing fraud by issuing forged certificates in the name of obtaining sports certificates for Army jobs under the sports quota, concealing his identity under the name Kunal, and deceiving people in the name of securing employment under the name Shivam.Based on a complaint received against him, FIR no. 248/26 under sections 318 (4)/338/336(3)/340(2)/168/204/341 (1) BNS was registered at Chakeri police station on Friday (17.04.2026).The accused, Shivam Yadav alias Kunal Singh Yadav, son of Brahmanand Yadav, a resident of village Piparahi, district Gorakhpur, was arrested on Saturday evening near the underpass leading to Naubasta from Chakeri police station.Police said the accused was presenting himself as a naib subedar in the Army, wearing army uniform in a fraudulent manner, and committing offences by providing forged documents to people in the name of issuing certificates from the Wrestling Association for securing jobs under the sports quota in the Army.With the assistance of Military Intelligence and the Surveillance Team, the wanted accused was arrested on Saturday along with forged documents, including a fake ID card, an Army canteen card, a mobile phone, and other forged documents.
