Prayagraj: A joint team of special task force and Fatehpur police on Wednesday arrested a criminal identified as Baba alias Munna alias Haseenuallah , a resident of Sultanpur who was wanted by Aung (Fatehpur) police in connection with Rs 9 lakh loot case. Baba along with four of his accomplices including Akhilesh Pal, Raj Kishore, Javed and Ajay alias Heera Lal had looted Rs 9 lakh from a trader, Shri Pal Pandey under the limits of Aung police station on December 22, 2014. Following the incident, an FIR under relevant sections was registered. Though police managed to arrest all four criminals involved in the loot, Baba alias Munna was giving sleepless night to UP police for past 16 years. Senior cops had too announced Rs 50,000 cash reward on his head.Police said that Baba alias Munna was the prime accused and mastermind of the loot. A total of three criminal cases were pending against him. He had taken shelter in Mumbai before falling in police net.
