NEW DELHI: Gangster Lawrence Bishnoi has claimed responsibility for the sensational killing of another gangster reported from a court in Hisar, Haryana, on Thursday.The Lawrence group released an audio and a social media post on Friday following the daylight murder of rival gangster Vinod Panu, alias Kana, a high-profile criminal facing over 30 criminal cases, including murder and extortion.Panu was ambushed near the court’s parking lot shortly after attending a scheduled hearing. Assailants fired around 14 rounds in rapid succession, critically injuring Panu and two of his associates.Panu later succumbed to his injuries at a nearby hospital. The brazen attack triggered widespread chaos and panic among lawyers, court staff and visitors present on the premises.Shortly after the shooting, a social media message uploaded under the profile name Anil Pandit detailed the motive and named the key perpetrators behind the hit.Transcribed in English, the post reads: “Hail Mahakal, Hail Shri Ram. Greetings to all brothers. The murder of Vinod Panu alias Kana that took place yesterday at Hisar court was executed by me, Himanshu Sonipat. I did this at the instructions of my elder brother Rohit Sonipat, Anil Pandit and Harman Sandhu. He considered himself a big gangster and was aligned with our enemies, so he was shown his true place. To all those remaining, listen carefully: mend your ways while there is time, or everyone will meet the same fate. Wait and watch.”The statement was accompanied by hashtags referencing allied gang figures.Security personnel and onlookers managed to chase down and arrest one of the armed attackers at the scene, recovering a firearm. Hisar Police have formed six specialised teams to examine forensic evidence, ballistic reports and CCTV footage.Cyber units are currently verifying the authenticity of the post and audio broadcast to trace potential international IP addresses and underlying gang networks.
