T’puram: Welfare Party of India (WPI) said that to defeat the political machinations of the Sangh Parivar, Kerala must vote against the continuation of the Left rule. WPI state president Razak Paleri urged people to use the assembly elections to thwart the Sangh Parivar’s plan to maintain a favourable social environment by keeping the Left in power. Speaking to reporters, Paleri said RSS has been leading ethnic and hate politics in various states, and in Kerala, the atmosphere for societal disintegration and social polarization through hate campaigns was created over 10 years of Left rule. In the last 10 years, the Sangh Pariwar was trying to dismantle the two defences: the social structure and the presence of two secular fronts, he added. “The strongest possible resistance against BJP in Kerala is the unity of minority groups,” Paleri said. Kerala has witnessed the encouraging approach of the Left govt to all the activities carried out by the Sangh Parivar, he said, adding that BJP has prepared a long-term plan to break the strong secular coalition and become the largest party in the future. Sangh Parivar adopted a strategy to eliminate UDF and gradually move into that position once they had the opportunity to implement their interests in the Left govt, Paleri said. Since coming to power, the only beneficiary of the Pinarayi Vijayan-led govt’s police policy has been the Sangh Parivar, he added. “The govt ensured all kinds of protection for police officers who took a pro-Sangh Parivar stance. The govt protected them even by overcoming opposition from component party leaders,” Paleri said. In states without political power, the Sangh Parivar’s attempt to create a favourable environment using the police system succeeded during the Pinarayi govt’s tenure. “The people must unite to defeat the Sangh Parivar’s plan of leftist governance continuity. With this interest in mind, Welfare Party has decided to support UDF, another secular front in Kerala, in the assembly election,” Paleri said.
