Mangaluru: Vivekananda Law College will host its third moot court competition at Sujnana Deepika Auditorium on May 9 and 10. The competition will be inaugurated by S Abdul Nazeer, governor of Andhra Pradesh and former Supreme Court judge and Justice N Kotiswar Singh of the Supreme Court will be the chief guest.Prof C Basavaraju, vice-chancellor of Karnataka State Law University, Hubballi, and Shekhar G Devasa, senior advocate of the Supreme Court, will be present. The programme will be presided over by K Krishna Bhat, secretary of Vivekananda Vidyavardhaka Sangha.At the valedictory function Sunday, Justice ES Indiresh, high court of Karnataka, will deliver the inaugural address. Justice V Srishananda and Justice TN Inavally of the high court will be the chief guests.G Jagannatha Rai, president of the Puttur Bar Association, and Srinivas Murthy Konda, senior advocate of Andhra Pradesh high court and national president of the Akhil Bharatiya Adhivakta Parishad, will also be present. Around 20 law colleges from across India are expected to participate in the competition. Judges of various ranks will mentor and judge the moot proceedings. The presence of judges from the Supreme Court of India and high courts is expected to inspire law students, stated a release.
