Margao: Benaulim AAP MLA Venzy Viegas on Thursday held a public meeting against Section 39A of the TCP Act at Majorda, where residents pledged support for scrapping the provision.Viegas reiterated AAP’s promise that if voted to office, the party would prioritise scrapping 39A and revoke all land conversion approvals granted under it, so that ancestral land “remains with Goans”.He specifically flagged the proposed conversion of 2.5 lakh sqm of paddy fields at Majorda to NDA/NDZ under 39A, alleging that such conversions were approved without consulting gram sabhas or seeking people’s consent.
