Lucknow/Noida: Police termed a video circulating on X, purportedly showing men in uniform beating women students in Noida, as “morphed and misleading”.The video, which was widely shared, appears to show UP police personnel beating the women and sarcastically questioning their conduct.Refuting these claims, officials said a detailed preliminary inquiry found the video to be unrelated to the district. “The content is being deliberately circulated with false context to malign the image of the police,” said police commissioner Laxmi Singh.“Strict action will be taken against those spreading misinformation and attempting to create panic or distrust through doctored visuals,” she added.Cyber cell officials said technical analysis and verification confirmed that the footage neither belongs to Noida nor reflects any recent incident in the area.Cyber teams are now working to trace the origin and circulation pattern of the video. Legal action under relevant provisions is being considered against individuals or accounts found responsible for amplifying the false narrative.Police urged the public to avoid sharing unverified content and to rely only on official sources for accurate information.
