A vehicle carrying approximately two hundred goats caught fire after striking an electric pole.

MAHABUBNAGAR: A driver and around 200 goats were charred to death after a vehicle carrying the animals caught fire following a collision with an electric pole in Mahabubnagar district early Thursday, officials said.The incident took place around 4 am near Bhoothur village on National Highway-44. According to a fire official, the DCM was carrying around 150-200 goats when it hit an electric pole. The vehicle’s diesel tank reportedly burst after the collision, with sparks triggering a fire.The driver died at the spot, while the goats trapped inside the vehicle were burnt alive, the official said.Fire tenders reached the spot and brought the blaze under control. Police also reached the site and sent the driver’s body for post-mortem examination.Officials said the exact extent of the loss was being assessed. Further details are awaited.(With ANI inputs)
