Guwahati: Vedanta Group has contributed Rs 7 crore towards flood relief and rehabilitation efforts in Assam, prompting chief minister Himanta Biswa Sarma to express gratitude to the company’s chairperson, Anil Agarwal, for extending support at a time when the state is grappling with one of its worst flood spells this year.Taking to X on Wednesday, Sarma said Agarwal was a “passionate advocate of Assam’s growth story” and noted that the Vedanta Group has made significant investments in the state.“As Assam faces this devastating flood, Vedanta has once again stepped forward with a contribution of Rs 7 crore towards relief and rehabilitation. We are deeply grateful to Shri Anil Agarwal and the Vedanta Group for standing with the people of Assam. This generous gesture reflects his enduring belief in giving back to society,” the chief minister posted.
