Madurai: MDMK general secretary Vaiko on Thursday urged the Tamil Nadu govt not to yield to the Union govt’s pressure to implement PM SHRI or the three-language policy in the state. He said any move in that direction could trigger another language agitation in the state.After the MDMK functionaries’ meet in Madurai, Vaiko told reporters that chief minister Vijay should remember the sacrifices of those who lost their lives and underwent imprisonment for Tamil rights.Vaiko also warned of renewed protests if Sterlite copper unit resumes operations in any form in Tuticorin. On the coalition govt in TN, Vaiko said it was too early to comment and added that people should wait and watch for six months. He also said “some good measures” had been taken by the TVK govt in the past 17 days
