Vadodara: A 16-year-old girl filed a complaint of rape against six persons, including a minor, at Varnama police station. Varnama police arrested the five adults accused and detained the boy.The girl, who is pregnant, told police that she had been in a relationship with one of the accused, Rohit Rathodia. “She said the others learned about their relationship and began blackmailing her,” said S J Vaghela, Varnama police inspector.The accused, who live in her village, would stalk her and threaten to reveal her affair to everyone. They used this information to blackmail her and rape her over the past year. The girl lives with her grandmother, who recently found out that the girl was pregnant. The matter thus reached the police station, after which the girl told investigators what had happened. Police arrested Rathodia, Shailesh Vasava, Manoj Vasava, Sohil Dhanjchi and Sanjay Rathod. Investigations are underway to ascertain if any others are involved in the offence.
