Rejecting claims that the Palamuru-Rangareddy project was nearly complete before the change of govt, Uttam Kumar Reddy said not a single acre had received irrigation benefits under the project when the present govt took office in 2023.“Chief minister A Revanth Reddy and I will undertake a comprehensive two-day review of major projects on June 4 and 5. The review will cover Palamuru-Rangareddy LI scheme, Nettempadu LI scheme, Koilsagar project, Bheema LI scheme and Kalwakurthy LI scheme,“ he stated.“The CM will review the status of land acquisition requirements and rehabilitation and resettlement issues. Necessary financial allocations will be made to speed up project execution,” he added. The minister alleged that several irrigation projects in the Mahabubnagar district remained incomplete during the previous BRS govt. He maintained that work on the project had gathered momentum after the present govt. Earlier, Uttam Kumar Reddy also reviewed paddy procurement operations in the district and said Telangana has procured 62 lakh metric tonnes (LMT) so far.
