Lucknow: The UP Subordinate Service Selection Commission (UPSSSC) released the much-awaited result of the gram panchayat officer (GPO) late on Monday. The GPO main exam was held on Apr 27, 2025, and the process of document verification ended in May.According to the information shared by UPSSSC chairperson SN Sabat, the commission filled all 1,468 posts, including unreserved (849), SC (356), ST (7), OBC (139) and EWS (117).The preliminary entrance test (PET) was held in 2022, and the post for GPO was advertised in 2023. In all, 66,691 candidates qualified the PET to appear for the GPO exam. Of these, 6,113 candidates qualified for 1,468 GPO posts.The commission said that under horizontal reservation, two candidates were selected against two posts for dependents of freedom fighters; 47 candidates against 47 posts for discharged military personnel/ex-servicemen; 270 candidates against 270 posts for women; 28 candidates against 28 advertised posts for the low vision (LV) disability sub-category; and two candidates against two posts for the hard of hearing (HH) sub-category.However, the commission failed to find any candidate for two posts under the ‘outstanding sportsperson’ category and therefore selected other candidates against these posts based on the order of merit. Further, 96 candidates have been admitted provisionally.
