LUCKNOW: The UP govt on Tuesday carried out bureaucratic reshuffle, transferring 15 IPS officers and appointing new police commissioners for Lucknow and Prayagraj.Additional director general (security headquarters) Tarun Gauba has been appointed the new police commissioner of Lucknow, replacing Amrendra Kumar Sengar, who has been promoted to the rank of director general (DG).Sengar has been posted as director general (intelligence) and will also hold additional charge of the security headquarters.In another key posting, Piyush Mordia, who was serving as additional director general (Varanasi Zone), has been appointed the new police commissioner of Prayagraj.The outgoing Prayagraj police commissioner, Jogendra Kumar, has been posted as additional director general, Police Training School (PTS), Moradabad.As part of the reshuffle, Naveen Arora, who was serving as ADG (technical services), has been appointed ADG, Varanasi Zone. Bhagwan Swarup Srivastava, who was serving as ADG (intelligence), has been transferred as ADG (technical services).The government also transferred Mohit Gupta, who was serving as secretary in the home department, and posted him as inspector general, Anti-Corruption Organisation (ACO).Anandrao Kulkarni, who was serving as IG, ACO, has been appointed secretary, home department.The reshuffle also included the appointment of Mutha Ashok Jain, a 1995-batch IPS officer recently promoted to the rank of director general, as director general, fire services.Further, Ram Kumar, who was serving as ADG (logistics), has been posted as ADG, Gorakhpur Zone, while Sanjeev Gupta, ADG, Police Headquarters, has been given additional charge of the logistics department.Among other postings, Vinod Kumar Singh, inspector general, Dr BR Ambedkar Police Academy, has been given additional charge of the special investigation team (SIT) in the same capacity.At the superintendent level, Anup Singh, who was serving as SP (Headquarters), has been posted as superintendent of police, economic offences wing (EOW), while Anand Kumar, also serving as SP (Headquarters), has been appointed SP, public grievance department.
