Chennai: Union minister of state for social justice Ramdas Athawale on Friday called on chief minister C Joseph Vijay at the Secretariat and discussed the violence against dalits in TN. He appealed to the CM to take necessary actions to prevent the rise of crime against dalits and urged him to grant lands to landless dalit farmers. Later in the day, he held a review meeting with the officials of the social justice department and discussed the recent cases of honour killing and caste-based violence.
