The foundation submitted a memorandum requesting free train travel and job reservation in the railways for HIV-positive individuals.
Ashraya Care Home and Livelihood Centre for HIV-positive orphan girls and widows hosted the visit, which was also attended by Gurusiddha Swami of Karanji Mutt.Jayant Humbarwadi (Ashok Iron), Mahesh Shetty, Dinesh Nayak (Hindalco Industries), Gurav, Subhash Patil, Ashwath, Bhairappanavar, and Murugendra Patil participated in the event. Safala Nagaratna submitted the memorandum to the minister on behalf of the foundation.The foundation sought the minister’s support for two initiatives – free railway travel for individuals living with HIV and job reservations in the railway department for eligible candidates from the community. The minister assured that he would review the requests and give a positive response within 15 days.The Ashraya team highlighted the contributions that enabled the construction of the centre. As former KHB minister, Somanna sanctioned the site free of cost. Ashok Iron managed the building structure. Hindalco Industries provided wall care, grills, and painting, while Shanti Foumach executed the electrical works. BDL Company supplied sanitary materials, Reyvector Company built the compound wall, and Suresh Yadav donated the main gate and grill doors.
