Patna: Panic gripped Siwan Junction on Friday after an unclaimed trolley bag was found on the foot overbridge. Suspicion deepened when the metal detector beeped during checking. As a precaution, the foot overbridge was immediately vacated and cordoned off.On getting information, RPF Post in charge Subhash Chandra Yadav, GRP in charge Vikas Kumar Azad and City SHO Avinash Kumar reached the spot with police force. Senior officials were alerted over suspicion of explosive material.A dog squad of the Railway Protection Force was called, along with an additional squad from Chhapra Junction. The dog squad did not detect any suspicious or explosive material.Following safety protocols, the bag was opened. It contained only clothes, a purse and other personal belongings. Officials said the beep was due to a belt and other metal items inside.RPF Post in charge Subhash Chandra Yadav said, “Prima facie it appears some passenger left the bag by mistake on the bridge. The vigil is being maintained at the station.”
