Overnight Ukrainian drone attacks killed three people in southwestern Russia’s Belgorod region and damaged an industrial site in the Perm region of the Ural Mountains, officials said Sunday.
In the city of Belgorod near the Russian border with Ukraine, an attack killed two people and injured 13, said Belgorod regional governor Alexander Shuvayev.
“The attack has damaged 30 blocks of flats, 35 cars, four houses, three administrative buildings, eight commercial premises and three social facilities,” he said.
Another person was killed and one was injured in a village near the town of Shebekino, authorities said.
A drone attack on Russia’s Perm region damaged an industrial facility, injuring five of its workers, regional governor Dmitry Makhonin said on Sunday.
Emergency services were at the scene and that the injured people received the necessary medical help, he said on the state-backed MAX messaging app without providing further detail on the nature of the damage.
Meanwhile, Russia’s Defense Ministry said that its drones had struck a cargo vessel bound for the Black Sea port of Chornomorsk during an overnight attack.
The ministry said the vessel was being used to supply the Ukrainian army.
Russian forces also hit a logistics center, a distribution center and a logistics terminal in the Ukrainian city of Kharkiv. The ministry said the facilities had been used for storage and distribution of dual-use cargo for the Ukrainian military.
Reuters could not independently verify the Defense Ministry’s information.
Later on Sunday, southwestern Russia’s Lipetsk region Governor Igor Artamonov said a Ukrainian missile strike on an industrial zone in the city of Yelets killed a security guard and injured a paramedic.
Artamonov said the security guard worked at one of the industrial facilities located on the site. The paramedic at the medical center was taken to hospital, where she was receiving the necessary treatment, the governor said.
The governor did not identify the facility that was hit in the strike.
Reuters could not independently verify the report. There was no immediate comment from Ukraine.
