Coimbatore: A woman and her daughter jumped into a well along with the latter’s 10-month-old daughter following a family dispute near Singanallur in Coimbatore on Friday. While the daughter died, the woman and baby were rescued.The deceased has been identified as R Ramya, 25, of Pillaiyar Koil Street in Ravathur near Irugur in the city. She was residing with her parents along with her baby girl.Police said the woman, R Beena and her husband had been at loggerheads over the past 20 days over a family dispute. On Thursday night, shortly after a quarrel broke out again, Beena and Ramya jumped into a well near their residence, along with the baby.“Hearing their cries, some locals looked into the well and found the three struggling in the water. They immediately jumped in and rescued them, bringing all three up,” said a police officer. “However, Ramya had died by the time she was brought out,” he added.Beena and the child were found fighting for their lives and rushed to a nearby hospital for treatment. Singanallur police have registered a case and are investigating further.
